Despite having the better start, Scottish were ultimately undone by a dominant Nottingham side.

James Love opened the scoring to the match, two penalties giving the away side a 0-6 lead. James Arlidge then scored three consecutive penalties to give Nottingham a brief lead before Love pulled one back.

The pressure quickly built on Scottish and the end of the first half saw a ultimately crucial series of events go against Scottish. First, Lewis Calder got sent to the sin bin, and then Brent Wilson and Nic Rouse both scored to give a half time lead of 21-9.

The dominance in possession continued into the second half, winger Rhys Crane adding a third try to the Nottingham tally. David Jackson soon followed up with a fourth and the try bonus point for Nottingham.

Jackson soon got a second to add to his personal tally and wasn’t the only Nottingham player to score twice as Tim Streather completed the scoring for the home side with two more tries.
