Sam joined London Scottish ahead of the 2020/21 season from fellow Championship competitors Ampthill.
He was a staple in the first team while at Dillingham Park, amassing 100 games in just four seasons while at Ampthill, including guiding them from National One into the Championship.
The Bristolian started his senior career at Newcastle Falcons, where he played for the A side as well as being dual registered with local team Blaydon.
After playing up north for a season, he returned to the west country, signing for Cinderford in National One. He amassed 74 appearances over three seasons while at The Villagers before Ampthill came knocking.
Hanksy has also represented England Counties U20 while playing at Blaydon and away from the field he is particularly good at video games, making it into the top 1% of warzone players in the world.
