George Horne has been called up by Gregor Townsend to the Scotland International squad as they prepare for their Natwest 6 Nations game against Ireland this weekend.
Horne was lent to Scottish in November 2015 after a stellar Under 20s campaign for Scotland. George went on to make 16 appearances for Scottish scoring one solitary try although he was a constant threat and a handful to defend against.

At the end of the 2015/16 season, Horne returned back to his parent club Glasgow Warriors. The following season he joined up with the Scotland 7s squad and announced himself on the world stage playing the shortened version of the game. After a year developing on the sevens circuit, Horne has gone from strength to strength this season with the Warriors and has been named Player of Month on two separate occasions.
It is great to see another past London Scot excelling in their career. Horne arrived at London Scottish with Robbie Fergusson who is currently in the Scotland 7s squad. Both Fergusson and current 1st XV player Alec Coombes were in action this weekend at the Las Vegas leg of HSBC World Sevens Series.
We wish George all the best as heads into his first Scotland camp. Everyone will be cheering you on from England’s capital.
