London Scottish are happy to announce that back rower James Tyas has re-signed with the club for the 2018/19 season.
The 26 year old ex-Bath Academy player has been a versatile cog in the Scottish pack this season, playing all across the back row and second row.
Director of Rugby Dave Morris stated how happy he was that James will be playing in the Tartan and Blue next season.
“We are thrilled that James has re-signed for London Scottish. He has had a very good season and I have seen good development in his game this year. James is a Swiss army knife of a player, who brings so much versatility to the team being able to play across the back row and in the second row. He is also a very good lineout caller and excellent under the high ball especially off kick offs. Off the field he really contributes to the wider club and he has been an outstanding coach within our junior set up.”
The 110kg forward was happy to be staying with Scottish but is already focusing on next year after being ruled out for the remainder of the current season with a foot injury.
“I’m very happy to have re-signed with London Scottish for next season. I’ve really enjoyed this season, playing with this group of boys and I’m excited to be back out on the pitch next season in what will be a really exciting London Scottish squad.”
James is the second player confirmed today as part of next season’s playing squad after we announced that Ben Mosses has also committed to the Scots for next year.
