Plenty of Rugby despite no 1st Team action

The 1st XV may not have a game this weekend as they prepare for their final game of the Greene King IPA Championship season against Yorkshire Carnegie next week but there is plenty of other rugby that Scottish supporters can get stuck into this weekend.

There is no fixture at The Athletic Ground unfortunately on Saturday but the Mini and Junior sections will be running riot in the sun on Sunday. Do not forget it’s the Club’s End of Season Dinner at the RAG tomorrow evening.

The league conquering Under 18s will be in action. Coach Jon Steafel put together a few words ahead of Sunday’s game.

“Sunday marks the end of an era for many of the u18s squad. The Young Lions, unbeaten league champions this year, host Henley in their final match of the season. It’ll be the last ever game of junior rugby for most of the players including a stalwart ‘hardcore’ who’ve been with Scottish since u6/7s.

The fixture will also be an unofficial ‘five counties championship’ – Scottish won Herts and Middx div 2 and Henley topped the same table in the Ox, Bucks and Berks League.

All to play for – expect a highly charged occasion.”

The Under 14s will be playing in a Rugby 10s tournament. The Under 16s will also be playing their last league game of the season away against Saracens. The Under 16s have named a strong side and will be looking to round off the season on a high.

Also on Sunday the Under 20s will be heading to Vallis Way and taking part in a U20 Championship Academy 10s tournament at the home of the Ealing Trailfinders. The Scots side will be joining teams from Nottingham, Moseley, London Welsh and hosts Ealing Trailfinders. This will be a great exhibition of the exciting young talent Scottish have in their ranks. The 20s will kick off against the Trailfinders at 10.30am
