London Scottish fans will know Hamish Whitear as a member of Ian & Louise’s team in the ticket office or patrolling the touchline as a ball boy on a Saturday matchday. He has played continuously for our junior section from Under 8 through to last years Under 18 league winning side.
But now Hamish has taken on the challenge of his first marathon and it’s a marathon with a difference! On April 7th, Hamish will be running the Pyongyang Marathon a recognised IAAF race that circuits the streets of the North Korean capital.
Hamish hopes to raise much needed funds for the Michael Sobell Day Hospice through sponsorship of his run. The hospice, based on the Mount Vernon Hospital site, cared for Hamish’s grandfather at the end of his life to help make him comfortable and free from worry and pain. So any contribution, however small, will be greatly appreciated and will help the Michael Sobell team continue providing medical, nursing and emotional care along with practical support for patients, their families and carers.
