Former Loughborough Students and current 1stXV players Luke Frost and Ollie Adams will stay at The Athletic Ground for the 2019/20 season.
Back rower Frost arrived last summer after graduating Loughborough University with a first class degree and has gone on to make 16 appearances this season.
The former London Irish Academy player sadly suffered an injury to a knee ligament in the game against Yorkshire Carnegie at the RAG meaning he will now miss the rest of the season but will be fit and raring to go ahead of the next year’s campaign.
Joining Luke next season will be hooker Ollie Adams. Despite only making two appearances for the Scots this season, he has been on loan with Championship leaders London Irish, where he was formerly part of the Academy. He has featured on multiple occasions for the exiles in both the league and in their Championship Cup campaign as they have reached the Final. Adams also missed a large chunk of the beginning of the season as he recovered from an ACL knee ligament injury.
Adams has now returned from his loan with Irish and played in our heart wrenching loss to Doncaster Knights at Castle Park. Adams is a strong candidate to be in the matchday 22 for the remaining three games of the season.
The former England Under 18 international has been working with the London Scottish Lions this season as a Strength & Conditioning coach whilst also operating his own business, P4RM Fitness.
Adams becomes the third hooker to agree terms ahead of next season joining Billy Harding and James Malcolm.
Both Frost and Adams were looking forward to next season and kicking on with the Scots at The Athletic Ground.
Frost said, “I am delighted to be staying at London Scottish for the upcoming 2019/20 season. Getting my first year in the Championship under my belt has been great for me and I have learned a lot. I am really looking forward to pushing on next year and climbing the table with a great bunch of lads.”
Adams was reflective on his season and said, “I am really pleased to be staying on at London Scottish. The opportunity the club gave me whilst injured last year has allowed me to get my head down, work hard and kick on again at the back end of this season, getting back on the field and making a number of Championship appearances. It should be really exciting with both Dave (Morris) and Steady (Graham Steadman) next year looking to drive the side up the table after an up and down season this year. Hopefully I can become a real key part of that process.”
Director of Rugby Dave Morris was happy to add the two Loughborough Alumni for their second seasons.
“I knew both Luke and Ollie well when they signed last summer after working with them at Loughborough. Both have brought a great work ethic to this year’s squad and they will be looking to push on next season. Luke has had a solid year and it is a shame that he won’t feature again this season, but we look forward to helping him develop next season. Ollie did incredibly well working with our medical team to come back from injury and has shown glimpses of what a top player he can be.”
