Tighthead prop Kyle Whyte has agreed to join London Scottish for the 2019/20 season.
Whyte is South African after being born in the country but qualifies to play for Scotland through his father who is from Inverness.
Whyte was previously with Edinburgh Rugby back in 2016 and signed a BT Premiership partnership contract deal with Watsonians.
The South African represented Western Province in the Currie Cup helping them reach the semi-finals in their 2016 campaign. He has also ran out for UCT Ikeys in the provincial South African competition.
The 6 foot 3, 117kg prop will be looking to bring some stability to the Scottish scrum next season whilst adding his power around the field.
Whyte was looking forward to joining the Scots for next season.
“I am very excited to join London Scottish this coming season. I have only heard good things about the club as a whole and am looking forward to working with the players and coaching staff.”
Director of Rugby Dave Morris is thrilled that Whyte has agreed to sign for the Exiles for next season.
“Kyle is a player who arrives at London Scottish after some strong recommendations. We are really excited to get him in during pre-season and working with him.”
Whyte becomes the second tighthead to sign for next season joining Xavier Valentine who joins from Leeds Beckett University.
