London Scottish are delighted to announce that Jessica Tolkien will be taking on the post of Digital Media Manager.
Having just graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a degree in Sports Journalism, Jessica has a huge passion for rugby.
During her three-year degree she worked alongside teams such as Gloucester Rugby and Northampton Saints, and had the pleasure of doing work experience with Premiership Rugby and covering the last two finals. Shadowing commentator Nick Mullins and spending a day with the team at BBC Oxford are also two of her highlights.
Originally born in Bristol, Jessica’s family moved to Spain in 2005 and still live there, so she is fully bilingual.
Rugby runs in Jessica’s family with cousins having played for teams such as Newbury, Hong Kong and Ilkeston. Her late grandfather played for Neath.
Jessica herself is a very sporty person. At University she was a part of the rowing team and also rowed for the Dart Totnes team down in Devon. Her hobbies include swimming, reading and learning new languages.
Fun facts: Jessica is related to the writer J.R.R Tolkien (the author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings).
