The Exiles return home to the Athletic Ground to face Ampthill tomorrow in the third round of the Greene King IPA Championship, 3pm kick-off.
Having come away with losing bonus points from the opening two rounds, the Scots will be looking to secure their first win in the League this weekend.
Head coach Graham Steadman has made three changes to the starting line-up with Harry Barlow, who is on loan from Harlequins, taking over from Rob Stevenson on the right wing, Billy Harding gets the nod ahead of James Malcolm at hooker, Matas Jurevicius comes in for Hugh Tizard in the second row. Both Malcolm and Tizard will look to make an impact off the bench.
Returning to the replacements bench are winger Bobby Beattie, who has recovered from concussion, Charlie Gowling, James Tyas and Phil Cringle.
On the feeling in camp, Steadman said: “Off the back of a frustrating loss away to Nottingham last Friday, the boys have put in a quality week’s training.
“We’re in a good place. With two tight losses we’ve focused on what we need to do differently to convert past results into wins. The major issue is based around how accurate we are with the ball in hand and how we keep our discipline; so that’s something we will need to fix alongside our physicality going forward.”
On his sides opponent’s, Steadman said: “In a space of five weeks they’ve adapted well to Championship rugby having gained promotion from National 1 last season. They’ve shown that they’re more than a match for top sides – Bedford Blues being certainly one that springs to mind off the back off an outstanding win away there.
“They also posted 50 + points against Yorkshire Carnegie last time out which means they’re in a good place, so we can’t be disrespectful or certainly take them lightly. We’ve got to be on top of our game.”
