The Scots have been forced to make one change to the starting line-up for tomorrow’s fixture against Jersey Reds at Stade Santander – kick off 2pm.
Full-back Joe Luca Smith suffered a leg injury against Cornish Pirates last time out, as such there has been a reshuffling of the backs. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Luke Hibberd takes over from Luca Smith in the 15 jersey. Rob Stevenson keeps his spot on the right wing, with Jonas Mikalcius coming in on the opposite wing. Elliot Creed joins forces with Matt Gordon in the centre. Will Magie will be starting at fly-half and Josh Barton will be barking instructions out at scrum-half.
Mark Bright returns to take over from Jack Ingall on the replacements bench. He will be joined by Ollie Adams, Ryan Eveleigh, Phil Cringle, Matas Jurevicius, Charlie Gowling, Dan Barnes and Harry Sheppard.
“We’ve taken a lot away from the game last weekend and we will need that plus more against Jersey Reds, who are a good side when they’re at home. The boys have had a good start to the season and I think consistency is a big thing for us,” said forwards coach Stevie Scott.
On the feeling in camp this week Scott said: “Training has had a different edge to it, as we’re back into League fixtures and this game is an important one for us. It’s one that we’re really looking forward to.”
Speaking on selection Scott said: “It’s good to have so many fit players available, we were sitting with a full bill of health for a week and then lost Jonny Harris and Joe Luca Smith.
“Overall, we’re in a good place and there are a lot of players pushing for places. The forward pack remains the same. Mark Bright comes back into the match day 23 to add a bit of experience.”
