Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is owned by Ian Macleod Distillers, one of Scotland’s leading independent bottlers and distillers. A proud partner of London Scottish, Glengoyne is the Club’s official malt whisky sponsor for the next three years.
Glengoyne has been producing exceptional single malt whisky for nearly 200 years and the sponsorship aligns one of the finest Highland single malts with a long-standing and successful rugby union club.
Taking its name from ‘Glen Guin’ or ‘Glen of the Wild Geese’ Glengoyne is handcrafted with time-honoured skills passed from one generation of distiller to the next. The Distillery boasts the slowest distillation process in Scotland with patience the key to the Glengoyne journey.
Highly regarded as Scotland’s most beautiful Distillery, close to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and nestled into Dumgoyne Hill, the Distillery usespure, clean water from a waterfall within the grounds. Malted barley is air-dried rather than dried using pungent peat smoke to produce subtle, yet complex spirit where all the delicate rich fruity flavours are freely expressed.
An investment of time and care, this is an unrivalled Highland malt collection of 10yo, 12yo, cask strength, 15yo, 18yo, 21yo and special edition bottlings – all matured in the finest oak sherry casks from Jerez in Southern Spain.
As well as producing an outstanding malt collection, the Glengoyne distillery also offers a range of entertaining, informative whisky tours and master-classes.
