Crowds allowed and Rugby returns!
After a very challenging month for parents and players due to Lockdown 2 and restrictions on play and training, it was time to clean off the boots and wrap up warm as training resumed at the RAG on Sunday. With coaches, players and parents back together there was also the opportunity to hand out end of season awards from 2019-2020; congratulations to all the winners.
There are two more training sessions remaining until Xmas and with contact rugby now allowed the challenge for coaches is how to reintroduce tackling for those who have done it before, and to teach it to those who have not.
The Lions also return to training this week when the MOVEMBER winners prizes will be handed out. The final amount raised in support of prostate and testicular cancer and mental health is £1,225. Well done boys.
The 1st XV, under elite sport guidance, was able to continue training behind closed doors at Maidenhead RFC during Lockdown 2 and discussions are still on-going between the Championship Clubs’ Chairmen and the RFU to find a solution for a safe and achievable pathway back to play in 2021. This has become possible due to the Government announcements of new measures and COVID-19 restrictions that will allow fans at outdoor sporting events in the lowest-risk areas. The RAA is awaiting final confirmation on allowable crowd sizes but this is very positive news and a significant step in the right direction to enable a safe return to watching London Scottish play.
However, a return to play comes with greatly increased costs, in particular the requirement for regular COVID-19 testing. The Department of Culture Media and Sport recently announced a £9 million support package of loans and grants for the Championship for which we await the finer detail before the league can commence.

Membership Card Update
Apologies to all members who have taken out new season memberships and have not yet received their cards. The delay has been due to several factors but mainly because of new COVID-19 guidelines for ticketing. We have been diligently sourcing a long-term solution which we hope to announce very shortly and finally send out new membership cards with a fixture list – which is still to be confirmed.
Any credit remaining on membership cards for season 2019-2020 will continue to be accepted at the members bar as agreed with the RAA. C’mon Scottish
