Scottish Rugby have announced that former London Scottish Forwards Coach John Dalziel will take up a new role as Head Coach of Scotland Sevens.
He will lead Scotland U20s to the 2017 Junior Rugby Championship in Georgia before taking up his new role.
Scotland Director of Rugby Scott Johnson said: “We have been developing Scottish coaching talent like John in different environments and now they can bring their experience into new team set-ups, be it the professional game or the opportunity to develop the group and continue the upturn in results in the World Sevens Series.”
Dalziel had an impressive impact at the Athletic Ground during his time at the club, and at the end of the season was hugely complimentary when looking back at the campaign.
“I've been lucky enough to be here as a player and also a coach and this year has been invaluable in my own development as a coach. The club is in great hands and I really appreciate the opportunity I've had.”
The Scot will team up with the likes of Ally Miller who has been featuring for Scotland Sevens in the last four legs of the series, and everyone at London Scottish wishes John all the best in his new role.
