Both clubs committed to an agreement in 2009 not to sign players from each other whilst in contract.

With both clubs competing in the Championship this agreement is even more important now than it was nearly a decade ago.

If a player wishes to consider a move, the management of both clubs are unable to enter into dialogue with a player while that player is registered or contracted to either club. When a player is out of contract and no longer registered that position changes.

This agreement covers player agents, friends and family members  and if an approach is made via this route it could cause embarrassment to the management of both clubs.
