London Scottish can today confirm that Dave Morris has been appointed as the new Director of Rugby for the 2017/18 season.

Morris has been with Loughborough Students for 11 years after taking over in 2006 and will now swap Leicestershire for London as he starts a new challenge in Richmond.

The former Blackheath hooker has made them a firmly established side in National One with a number of promotions and led them to become the first student side to take part in the national leagues.

Morris is excited to lead the Scots, and will now prioritise recruitment as the club starts to build towards the 2017/18 season.

“It is a huge honour to be joining a club with the history and heritage of London Scottish. Sport for me is about relationships and creating memories.”

He added: “I leave Loughborough University with friendships and memories for life and I now look forward to helping create special memories with my new colleagues at London Scottish.”

Chief Executive Carson Russell is confident that Morris is the right man to lead the Scots in to a new era.

“Dave was the outstanding candidate for this role and we have no doubt that he will be a success at London Scottish. With his achievements at Loughborough it is clear that he is ready to make the step up to the Championship and we look forward to him taking charge. ”
