Head Coach Peter Richards and Rory Bartle both saw signs of encouragement despite the 21-17 defeat to Blackheath.
The Scots had 13 debutants in the starting line-up as well as many more off the bench, but with a training match against Heriots in Edinburgh on Tuesday and then another match against Saracens on 25th August, Richards saw no reason to panic with the Greene King IPA Championship season still three weeks away.
“To get all of the new faces a game was a huge positive and to be injury free allows us to develop further as a squad as we continue to build for our league opener at Nottingham.” Said Richards.
