29th April 2013

London Scottish flanker Tommy Spinks has been named in the Scotland U20s squad for the upcoming IRB Junior World Championships in France.

Spinks, who played all five games for the U20s during the 2013 RBS 6 Nations, including two starts, is selected in a 28-man squad to be captained by 19 year-old Jonny Gray, the younger brother of Scotland international Richie.

Head coach Sean Lineen said: “Our ambition in France will be to get into the top four. It’s going to be very tough. The levels of commitment, ambition to play and desire to work hard for each other were all features of the match against France (during the 6 Nations) and we’ll need more of the same in the Junior World Championship.”

After kicking off their campaign against Argentina on June 5th, Lineen's charges then face Wales on June 9th and then Samoa on June 13th. All three games will be played at Stade Pascal Laporte in Nantes.
