This Friday, London Scottish Under 15’s set off to France to take part in the French International Festival of Rugby in Arras.
A massive squad of 38 players will play 3 games per day against teams from England, Wales, Holland and France in a two day festival.
Simon Sanderson, the Under 15's Manager, commented “With such a big squad travelling we have been able to enter two London Scottish teams in the festival. Its going to be hard work for the players but we are all looking forward to going and playing our last games of this season in an international environment”.
The Under 15 team have seen a steady increase in numbers this season from 24 players who registered last September to 39 players by the season end. This is largely down to London Scottish being central to the junior rugby playing community in West London plus good strong contacts in local schools and of course London Scottish playing in the RFU Champiobship which does not go unnoticed.
Jerry Collier, London Scottish U15 Lead Coach also commented “We had a mixed league season but in the last half of the season we turned our game around and with an influx of new players we were able to consolidate our position in Herts Middlesex League 2. The Arras tour will be tough for the boys but we have a very strong spirit in the squad and every single squad member will play his part this weekend”.
With support from the club we will be taking two physios, nine club coaches and a host of parents who will all play some sort of role in making sure this weekend is a success.
The U15s would like to thank all London Scottish supporters and members who have generously donated to their fund-raising efforts over the last few months, it is greatly appreciated and goes a long way in securing a fulfilling tour to Arras.
