Over the last few weeks, London Scottish have been spreading the rugby gospel around the local community through a dedicated programme of rugby coaching within a number of schools in the local area.
By teaming up with members of the England women’s World Cup squad, such as Richmond’s Abi Chamberlain (pictured), to provide specialist coaching and raise interest in rugby to girls of all age groups, it is hoped the new initiative will then provide opportunities for them to join the club’s up and coming girl’s section in the future.
Steve Colvin, Head of P.E. at Christ’s School in Richmond said: “The London Scottish and England players have been fantastic role models for the students at Christ’s School. They have shared their expert knowledge and skills, delivering fun and challenging sessions that students learn so much from. We are looking forward to supporting London Scottish's development of girl’s rugby in Richmond and continuing the relationship between the school and the club.”
