LONDON SCOTTISH U12’S – Finchley Festival 5 Dec 15

Finchley v London Scottish (7 v 7 Draw)

After all the boys had arrived quite early to Finchley RFC, the fixtures began, with London Welsh up against Finchley, and this was an ideal opportunity for the boys to watch both teams from the sideline, garnering their strengths and weaknesses at the same time.  One thing to note were the pitch conditions, including the foot deep swamp on the try line.  Undeterred by the conditions of the day as a whole, the boys started their warm up, using simple ball through hand techniques before really raising the heart rate.  Before you knew it, it was kick off, and from the off the Finchley boys were on the back foot, with some great lines being made by the boys.  The opposition was made of a bigger stature than the Scottish boys but this only spurred them on more to prove a point, and when Felix made his customary burst with the ‘Tank Commander’ Jacob in support, it wasn’t long before the boys had made a good 20m before the ball came out to the backs, and through the swift hands of Jonathon and Ralph, the ball soon made its way to the inside centre Barney to break the defence and go over for the first try of the game.  The game continued to favour the Scottish boys, with Jude bursting along the wing, with Chris and Ben continually being close behind in superb support. Finchley were awarded a penalty 5 metres out, and with a quick tap from 1 meter out the ball was over the try line and Finchley were gifted 7 points.  Overall a good and well-played game of rugby ended London Scottish’s unbeaten record BUT only as a draw……

London Scottish u12's look forward to welcoming Teddington B's , Old Grammarians and Bank of England to the Richmond Athletic Ground for the next league game on the 17th January 2016.
