A Day For The Rookies

28th October 2015
admin

No doubt inspired by the epic World Cup semi-finals, London Scottish U8s came out with purpose this Sunday.

With basic ball handling skills the order of the day, we had some truly fantastic catches that would rival Odell Beckham Jnr. and passes more accurate than a James Bond bullet.

Whilst our veterans once again impressed it was our rookies that really shone. A breakout performance from Dominic left him last man standing in Bull-dog and the rightful recipient of one of our player of the day awards.

Another rookie, William, has showed incredible growth over the last few weeks and his understanding of the game has grown exponentially in that time. His tackling and running was fantastic throughout the day and rightfully won the player of the day award.

Our third player of the day was not only a rookie but a debut player too. Dara played his first practice like a 10year veteran – if he builds on this success who knows what the future will hold.

This really was a day for the rookies, never have we seen such a great individual campaign since Wilt Chamberlains 1959 debut season.  Whilst they have set their standards high, I am sure they will live up to them.
