Peter Lydon has been nominated for Championship Player of the Month after a fine start to the 2015/16 campaign.
The full-back is named among this season’s first round of nominees, earning his second nomination after being including in February’s Player of the Month line-up. The former Stade Francais man crossed the try-line during the round four win against Yorkshire Carnegie and scored a last-gasp penalty from 35 metres to secure a 30-27 victory. 41 points for Scottish came off the boot of the Irishman in the month of September.
Lydon has also started October in similar fashion, a last-minute drop goal from 30 metres gave the Scots an 11-10 win over London Welsh in the Exile Derby to put Scottish third in the league.
After the success of its debut last year, the Greene King IPA Championship Player of the Month award returns for its second season.
Designed to recognise the outstanding contributions of individuals throughout the league stages, the Player of the Month Award last year acknowledged the talents of Matthew Morgan, Sam Olver, Marco Mama, Dougie Flockhart, Max Stelling and Charlie Amesbury.
