London Scottish is deeply saddened to announce the passing of club member Ross Paris.
Ross was a member of London Scottish for over sixty years. He very sadly died recently, after a long illness, aged 83.
The funeral will take place at Beckenham Crematorium, Elmers End Road at 3:00pm on Monday, 21st September, and the reception to follow at Langley Park Golf Club, Barnfield Wood Road – all friends and members most welcome.
Ross captained our 3rd XV for many years and was renowned for keeping his best players to strengthen his team and very slow to promote them to the first and second teams.
On one occasion, Ross had his great moment when the 1st XV were about to tour Scotland over the Easter weekend. Due to serious injuries we were short of a fly-half and Ross was asked to join the tour. We played against Glasgow High, Edinburgh Accies and 'Gala'. They won all three matches with Ross at fly-half.
In the borders when the home team won, they would sing many chorus's of 'Gala Queen of all the Borders!' That weekend we gave them ' Scottish King of all the Borders', a fitting tribute to Ross.
