Glasgow Warriors prop D’arcy Rae has joined London Scottish on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year old had his first training session with his new teammates this morning and will provide useful depth to the Exiles front-row department in the closing weeks of the season.
Rae made his competitive debut for Glasgow Warriors, the GUINNESS PRO12 leaders, in February against Munster following a short four game spell on loan at Benetton Treviso at the turn of the year.
The former Scotland Under-17, 18 and 20s cap joined the BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy in 2013 and has impressed enough recently to earn a two-year professional contract at Glasgow Warriors starting next season.
Commenting on his loan move to London Scottish, Rae said: “I am really pleased to have joined the Club and hopefully I can impress enough to get some game time and show the Scottish fans what I can do.
“I know a couple of boys who have played at London Scottish before, Chris Auld and Tommy Spinks, who was my captain at Scotland Under-20s level.
“They only had good things to say about London Scottish and I'm looking forward to this new challenge.
“I have far more confidence in my game after my time in Treviso which helped me earn the contract with Glasgow and know I can play at a high level.”
London Scottish Director of Rugby, Mike Friday, added: “It is great news that we have been able to secure D'arcy until the end of the season.
“He is an up and coming tighthead, a good scrummager with a bright future ahead of him.
“The experience with us over the next month will only add to his development.”
