Calum Scott on Joining London Scottish

02nd September 2024

London Scottish sat down with new signing Calum Scott as he begun his second stint at the Club. Joining after a short spell on loan in 2022, Calum has history with the Club. His father was a player for the club years ago so he has a strong affinity with the place.

This made joining this season a no brainer as Calum has said “it’s a big opportunity to play in the Championship. I’ve got a bit of history at the Club with my dad playing here so I’ve always had a link. When Brushy reached out it was a really easy conversation to come back here.”

Having joined pre season slightly later owing to gaining international honours with Hong Kong this summer. Speaking about his experience with the national team Callum said “two months away with five weeks in Asia and two weeks in South America. I made my debut against Malaysia and then got to play against Chile, Paraguay and Brazil.”

He went on to note that “it was massively beneficial to my development and I feel it’s put me in a good place for the upcoming season.” Calum did take a small knock on his trip away but is hoping to back and firing before the Club visits Harlequins on Saturday 7th September.

Looking ahead to the season and reflecting on settling back into the squad Calum noted “it was good to see some familiar faces and nice to catch up with some boys I knew from being on loan. The squad seems really solid and there is a real core. It feels like a real exciting buzz going into the season.”
