Kiwi Moffat remains focused on top four

Centre Kieran Moffat was left frustrated after last night’s 13-13 home draw against Doncaster Knights but says Scottish can take plenty of positives from the match thanks to their late rally which secured two points.

The Scots trailed for the majority of the game but a superb try from Matt Williams with nine minutes remaining brought them back to within two points.

The touchline conversion from Peter Lydon rescued a draw in what was a hugely physical encounter.

Kiwi Moffat said: “It was frustrating as we didn’t get our game going.

“There were too many dropped balls and you can’t win a game when you give away as many penalties as we did.

“We’re always positive at this club and even though we’re disappointed as we came out to win, we’ll certainly take the two points and move on.

“It's all about securing a place in the play-offs and we are still on course for the semi-finals.”

Scottish remain comfortably third in the Championship after yesterday's draw and Moffat is looking forward to what could be an historic end-of-season for the Scots who could make the play-offs for the first time in their history.

The New Zealander, who joined Scottish in February, added he has been loving live in Richmond since arriving.

He said: “I’m really enjoying playing here.

“It’s an awesome place and the boys here are outstanding.

“They’ve all welcomed me and the coaching staff have been really good as well so it has been great.

“It’s a really exciting time to be involved and we are all focused on picking up the points and finishing third which is the aim.

“We wont take anything for granted until it's done and dusted.”
