After joining the Club following his graduation from Durham University, Jake has taken to men’s rugby like a duck to water. Growing up in Scotland, Jake has an affinity straight away with London Scottish making him a perfect fit for the Club. When he travelled down to London post studying for work he knew where he wanted to play his rugby.

“It was an obvious choice” said Jake when reflecting on joining the Club. “It’s been great so far and I’ve loved every second of it.” Looking at his transition to London Scottish he noted that “obviously it’s a step up, a bit of a shock in the physicality but I hope I’ve coped with it well so far.”

“From day one all the boys have been really welcoming which has made the move really easy” noted Jake. This has made his move incredibly easy he reflected and “allowed us to get down to really good training pretty quickly. It’s been pretty hard work at times and enjoyable at the same time.”

Coming to the end of the pre season block and looking into the first games of the competitive season, Jake managed to start in both games against Exeter and Harlequins and will hope to push in at the start of the season.

Looking at those two warm up games Jake noted, “you get to play in some really cool stadiums against some properly good opposition which tested us as a group and myself individually but I loved every minute of it.”

Jake feels the squad has been prepped really well for the opening weekend of the Championship season and for the year to come. “We’ve learnt a lot from those two games and there are plenty of things to bring into the new season to play a really exciting brand of rugby.”
