The London Scottish U13s team recorded its third straight league win of the season on Sunday after beating the Bank of England 17-5.

The margin of victory belies the fact that it was a closely contested game up until the final minutes when Scottish scored a third try. 

While Scottish had a strong first half running in two tries, Bank of England were the stronger team in the second half spending much of the time in Scottish’s half.
 
Thomas opened the scoring for Scottish after five minutes.

From a tap-penalty, Thomas was sent on a customary charge down the left touch line and proving difficult to stop crossed close to the corner.

Following on from further pressure on the Bank of England, a failed clearance quick was gathered by Marcel who ran in and scored under the posts.

Scottish were dominant in the scrum winning a few against the head and defence was reasonably secure although tackling could have been better.

The Bank also showed a good ability to ruck – turning over a few balls. 
 
In the second half, the Bank scored a try early on after a loose pass from Scottish, running it in from the half-way line.

For much of the second half Bank were camped in the Scottish half.

When Scottish did have the ball unforced errors crept in, with a number of handling errors and players became isolated giving away a number of penalties.

Rory rounded off a fine move in the backs, and came close to scoring but was held up short.

Relief for Scottish supporters came with a move starting from the 10m line – the ball was shipped down the line and Marcel ran-in his second try which was converted.  The final whistle ensued.
 
There were some notable contributions from the team – Kyril tackled and rucked well; Konrad made a number of yards carrying the ball as well as achieving a few turnovers whilst Eli showed his ability in gathering and tidying up possession.

Overall a good win but with plenty of areas in which to improve.
