Full-back Errie Claassens praised his teammates after London Scottish claimed a 30-19 bonus point victory away at Cornish Pirates this afternoon.
Mark Bright got his second hat-trick in as many games before Miles Mantella ran clear for the fourth try ten minutes from time and Claassens saw it as an important victory following last week’s impressive win over Rotherham Titans.
The South African, who came on for the injured PJ Gidlow early in the match, said: “This is a tough place to come so we’re all really pleased with the result and the boys stuck to their task brilliantly.
“It’s a great start to the season but we need to continue getting good results like this.
“There are no easy games in this division so we have to make sure we’re up to scratch every week.
“We want to make our home ground a fortress and next Saturday against Bedford Blues is a chance to send out another message.”
He continued: “We still have a lot to work on and improve this week in training and we were disappointed in parts of our game today. Bedford haven’t had great results so they will be up for it and going for the win.
“We’ve had a great start and got the likes of Bristol and Worcester soon so that will test us to see where we are.”
The South African has returned from a long injury lay-off this season but feels he is improving physically week on week
He added: “The body is getting there, I’m getting confidence after each game and hoping to be 100 per cent as soon as possible.”
London Scottish will aim to make it three wins from three at the Athletic Ground next Saturday, September 20, 3pm kick-off against Bedford Blues.
