The weather challenged amateur rugby through January and February as many games were postponed.

In February the senior teams were involved in a handful of games with mixed results.

The Highlanders claimed a walk over win over Guildford who were not able to field a team and instead played a friendly against Richmond Saxons in mid February.

It was back to Shield 2 league rugby on March 1, the Highlanders beating Hammersmith & Fulham 38-7 (6 tries to 1). The pack in particular was solid and overpowered their opponents.

The Claymores had their games postponed on the 8th and 15th of February and played London Cornish on the 22nd of Feb at The Athletic Ground beating the visitors 44-29 (8 tries to 5) in an exciting game.

The team continued this form against Chiswick on the 1st of March winning 36-14 (6 tries to 2 tries) on a day that all the amateur teams got the performance right for a winning result.

The Extra B’s also missed out on some games due to the weather but played away to Rosslyn Park losing to strong opposition.

Since that game the lads have pulled together and have been on the winning side against Ealing at home, 19-13 and then away, beating London Cornish 26-12 on March 1st.

The Highlanders and the the Claymores have three league games remaining while the Claymores are playing for a spot in a semi-final of the MMT1.

The Extra B’s have two more league games in MMT2 and would look to finish in a respectable position in a league that is one higher than the previous year.
