Newly appointed full-time Head Coach James Buckland makes four changes to the starting line-up for Sunday’s clash against Leeds Carnegie at Headingley.
Prop Mark Irish, Harlequins dual-registered lock Sam Twooney and Scotland under-20s captain Tommy Spinks take their place in the forward pack with James Love replacing Pete Homan on the wing.
Injuries rule out Ben Russell, Eric Fry and Chevvy Pennycook for a game London Scottish must win to keep on the coattails of the top four clubs, including free-scoring Leeds Carnegie.
James Lowes’ side have crossed the try line 23 times in their last three matches and represent formidable opposition this weekend.
But London Scottish can gain inspiration from their previous encounter against Leeds when they won 26-15 at the Athletic Ground back in November.
“It’s a huge game for us and obviously Leeds are the form team in the league at the moment,” Buckland said.
“They are full of confidence and on their own track on a firm surface they will be looking to continue their good form.
“They have some very skilful players and once they have it in hand they are willing to play from anywhere.
“Their nine is electric and their wingers can finish from anywhere.
“We got quite a lot right against them last time and didn’t give them an easy out, putting a lot of pressure on them.
“But they showed how dangerous they are in the second half and we were lucky to hold on towards the end.”
He added: “Tommy Spinks is full of confidence just now and he will add something to the line-out with his athleticism whilst Sam Twomey is a big boy who brings a bit of physicality.
“Like everyone in the league, you are tested by injuries but we are a tight-knit group and come Sunday the boys will be ready and fired up.”
