London Scottish prop Eric Fry was cited for allegedly making contact with the eye(s) or eye area, contrary to Law 10.4(m) during the Bedford Blues v London Scottish match on January 1st.

Following a hearing last night (Tuesday) at the Bloomsbury Holiday Inn, this charge was dismissed by a panel comprising Dr Julian Morris (Chairman), Jeremy Summers and Roger Goodier.

London Scottish Chief executive Kenny Baillie said: “We are pleased with the decision made by the disciplinary panel last night and were always confident there was no case to answer.

“Eric has an impeccable disciplinary record and has always been held in very high regard by everyone at London Scottish, USA Rugby and indeed wherever he has played his rugby.

“We are disappointed Eric had to go in front of the panel but he can now move on and fully focus on his rugby for the remainder of the season.”

Bedford Blues forward Paul Tupai was sent off for punching or striking, contrary to Law 10.4(a), during the same fixture.

The player pleaded guilty to the charge at a hearing last night and was banned for three-weeks.

He is ordered to pay £250 towards hearing costs and is free to play again on January 28.
