London Scottish have made six changes to their starting line-up for Sunday’s crucial Greene King IPA Championship clash against Jersey at Richmond Athletic Ground, 2pm kick-off.
Hooker Adam Kwasnicki makes his comeback following a summer shoulder operation with scrum half Jordi Pasqualin also back in the starting line-up having recovered from a shoulder injury picked up in the win over Plymouth Albion last month.
Pasqualin comes in for Jamie Stevenson who looks set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury in the defeat at the Pirates last week.
With Tyler Hotson on international duty, Paul Spivey gets his chance to impress in the second row and in the backs Oli Grove returns to make his 50th appearance for the Club.
Prop Tomas Francis, impressive off the bench last week, retains his place and Ben Russell makes way for Chevvy Pennycook in the back-row.
Acting Head Coach James Buckland said: “It’s great to have Adam back at hooker.
“He has worked incredibly hard, is a solid leader in the side and we are excited to see what he can do on the pitch.
“The same goes for Paul Spivey who was a mainstay in the team last season.
“It’s his chance to stake a claim for a regular starting place.
“Whilst we are really disappointed about Jamie’s injury, Jordi’s a good player who was playing well at the start of the season.”
Scottish come into the game off the back of a disappointing 16-8 loss at Cornish Pirates last Friday, their second defeat in a row whilst Jersey are also smarting from consecutive league defeats.
Buckland expects the islanders to provide stern opposition.
He added: “It’s an important game following our poor performance last week and Jersey will be tough.
“They have big aspirations and have recruited well this year.
“It is their second season in the Championship and clearly they want to make a good impression.
“But our boys have been training hard this week and we are positive going into the game.”
Remembrance Sunday
On Sunday at 11am there will be a two minutes silence which supporters, guests, players and staff are kindly asked to observe as Club President Rod Lynch lays a wreath at the war memorial.
There will also be a minutes silence just before kick-off.
