The London Scottish February Rugby Camp has just concluded with children ranging from 6 to 14 years old attending.

Over the three days of the camp, the children took part in sessions such as an introduction to tackling and contact skills, handling and decision making, running lines and fixing defenders, creating and maintaining space, switch, miss and loop pass execution, kicking skills and much more.

Expert coaches, including no less than 8 professional players from the 1st XV squad, delivered fun, engaging and effective coaching for all the children, with Craig McGrath continuing to be a firm favorite and Lewis Calder coming a close second, getting involved with a number of jokes during the camp.

Both Craig and Lewis were complemented by fellow professionals such as Jim Thompson, Tyler Hotson, Alex Clarke, Ryan Westren and others who all delivered well received sessions.

Over the three days, the coaches were assessing the player improvements and skill levels which would allow them to provide a 'star performer' from each group (junior and senior) with a London Scottish jersey signed by the professional playing squad.

On day three of the camp, it was a tough one to call with a number of players really impressing the coaches and players. Eventually it was decided that Noah Colton should win the star performer in the junior group, whilst Saul Barrett won the prize in the senior group.

After Community Development Officer Ross Peacock had given the closing address, all who attended the camp left with a free ticket to the next game at the Athletic Ground where London Scottish will take on Jersey on Saturday 2nd March.
