30th September 2011

London Scottish are sad to report that 1st XV full back, John Bordiss sustained a serious injury during the game against Doncaster Knights last Saturday.

John suffered a perforated bowel during a regulation tackle, and after attempting to continue, was rushed to hospital where he underwent an emergency operation.

The club would like to extend it's thanks to all of the medical staff at Doncaster's Castle Park ground, as well as at the hospital.

Thanks to the prompt attention he receivced, John is recovering well from the after effects of the operation, although he is currently still in hospital in Doncaster.

Everyone at the club wishes John well in his recovery, and we look forward to seeing him down at the Athletic Ground in the near future cheering on his teammates. It is likely that the injury will keep John from playing for a significant length of time, but at this early stage the club are optimistic he will make a return to the field at some point in the future.

Head Coach Simon Amor wished John well ” We’re all very disappointed that John’s injured, but most importantly he’s recovering well. The operation was a success and he’s back on the road to recovery.

When players sustain serious injuries, their health is naturally the number one priority, and the care that was provided for John up in Doncaster was second to none. We're all sending our best wishes to John and his family, and hope he's back on his feet before long.”
