After only a short break the London Scottish Schools and Community Programme is preparing for one of the busiest terms of the year. With the summer recruitment finished, schools returning this week and the Rugby World Cup now only a fortnight away, Community Development Manager Ross Peacock and his team are getting ready for and extremely busy few months.
We caught up with Ross this week ahead of the season starting to get his thoughts on the year ahead and the Rugby World Cup:
“We have a very busy few weeks ahead of us and I know that the boys are looking forward to getting started again. The development team has been working extremely hard throughout the summer months to ensure that there is constant engagement with the community by running initiatives such as recruitment fairs and the summer rugby camp.
“With the Rugby World Cup just round the corner it's impossible to escape the game of rugby and that is something that we must capitalise on. As rugby coaches in the community we need to use the buzz and the momentum of this great tournament to get more and more youngsters playing the game of rugby.
“It's another extremely exciting season for London Scottish and I am looking forward to what the next few months hold for all sections of the club.”
