Community Update

14th October 2015
admin

On Saturday 3rd October the Athletic Ground played host to pupils, parents and teachers from Falcons Prep School.

Prior to the local derby, London Scottish vs. London Welsh, Community Development Manager Ross Peacock and his coaching team were on hand to provide pupils from Falcons Prep School a match day experience.

The day started with a coaching masterclass focussing on basic skills such a handling, individual tackle technique and support play before finishing with an entertaining touch match that Falcon's Head of Sport Chris Shaw and and London Scottish Community Development Manager Ross Peacock took part in.

We caught up with Falcon's Head of Sport Chris Shaw after the session.

“We have been working with London Scottish for a number of seasons now and days like these help further establish the relationship between the school and the club. It's been a fantastic day so far and I know that everyone is looking forward to the watching the game later this afternoon.

We would like to thank London Scottish for their continued support and look forward to working with them during the Spring term.”

After the training session Falcon's pupils of all ages were invited to stand as the Guard of Honour as London Scottish took on London Welsh in the local derby.

Ross Peacock was delighted that the session with the school went down so well: “It's great to have so many pupils down from the Falcon's school. The buzz around the ground for this fixture is fantastic and it's great that these young rugby players can be part of such an environment.

This afternoons session was a great success, the boys seemed to enjoy themselves and it was great to see so many parents down standing on the sideline. We'd like to thank everyone from Falcon's who have managed to make the trip and come down to support the boys today and very much look forward to working with all involved at the school in the very near future.”

The London Scottish community team will continue to further the relationship with Falcon's School by delivering sessions to both the Pre-Prep and Prep schools during the Spring term.
