Disappointing Day for Scottish

07th December 2025

Travelling to Coventry was never going to be an easy challenge for London Scottish. A side they haven’t beaten on the road in half a decade and a side that was smarting from a last minute defeat to Doncaster last week.

However, Scottish failed to show up for this one and put in a disappointing display as they slumped to their heaviest defeat of the season.

Scottish started brightly, controlling territory and possession leading to a penalty in front of the sticks. Fraser Honey duly stepped up to slot it over to give Scottish the lead.

This, however, was as good as things got for a period as Coventry snapped into action and scored three tries in four minutes in response. 21-3 after 15 minutes and Scottish were left reeling.

The pressure begun to tell and Coventry got another before the break to secure the bonus point, not before Scottish ill discipline got them on the wrong side of the referee.

After the break, Coventry kept their foot down and took advantage of a crest fallen Scottish. Running in a further five tries in the second forty, Scottish were powerless to prevent the onslaught.

There was a brief moment of relief, as Noah Ferdinand crashed over over a lovely first phase move in the Coventry 22 to give his side something to shout about.

However, there is a lot of questions to answer after that one as Scottish go searching for a second win of the season next weekend with Hartpury coming to town.
