London Scottish is pleased to confirm the loan signing of Edinburgh Rugby’s Chris Auld on a one month contract.
The talented 21-year-old back joined Edinburgh last season having impressed through age group rugby – captaining Scotland Under-18s and competing in the 2013 Junior World Cup in France.
Auld played his club rugby for Gala alongside current London Scot Lee Millar during which time they helped the Netherdale outfit win successive Border League titles and the Scottish Cup.
Dumfries-born Auld, who can play outside centre and full-back, said: “I am looking forward to the next few weeks.
“I’ve only been here a few days but the set-up is really good, similar to Edinburgh, and the boys have helped me settle in quickly.
“Hopefully I can help London Scottish continue their fine start to the season and it would be great to line-up alongside Lee again.”
London Scottish backs coach Peter Richards added: “Chris is an exciting prospect and he will be heavily involved over the next few weeks.
“He has fitted in well during the first couple of sessions and the fact he has played so often in midfield with Lee Millar can only benefit us.”
Edinburgh Rugby managing director David Davies said: “We see this step as a vital one in Chris' development and if we can help Scottish in the process then that is a win for everyone.”
