London Scottish have secured the services of Eoin Sheriff from London Irish for next season.

The lock has experience with some of the biggest clubs in Europe, having had stints at Leinster and Saracens as well as Irish.

The 27-year-old played 11 times for Saracens in a two year spell at the Premiership club between 2012 and 2014, and last season featured on six occasions for London Irish, who will also be playing in the Greene King IPA Championship next season.

Sheriff, who stands at 6’5”, also has four caps for Ireland Under 20’s, and will look to feature regularly in the second-row alongside Rory Bartle and Neale Patrick, who have both also signed for the 16/17 season.

The Irishman is excited about his new challenge at the Athletic Ground. “I’m really pleased to be joining London Scottish at such an exciting time for the club. I look forward to being part of a progressive team and I’m confident I can put my Premiership experience to good effect and help to create success for the club.”

Head Coach Peter Richards has added another player to the forward pack for next season, as the squad continues to strengthen.

“Eoin has plenty of experience playing at the highest level of the domestic game, so we hope that he can have a great influence for us both on and off the pitch.”
