London Scottish have secured the services of two exciting prospects ahead of the 2017/18 season.
Josh Barton and Connor Hayhow will both be looking to break in to the match day squad after training with the Scots and featuring for the academy throughout the 16/17 campaign.
Barton was named Academy Player of the Year after a brilliant season with the Highlanders, and his performances earned him a call up to the first team.
The scrum-half made his debut for the first team against Cardiff Blues in the British and Irish Cup, and scored an impressive try which saw him train with the squad for the rest of the season.
He also came off the bench against Ealing Trailfinders in the Greene King IPA Championship and showed enough potential to sign a professional contract.
Barton is thrilled to be signing with the Scots as he looks to make his mark on the Championship.
“I'm very grateful to be given this opportunity to be part of an exciting club and am really looking forward to my first season in professional rugby.”
Hayhow was training with the Scots throughout the 16/17 season and was involved in both pre-season matches before being dual registered with Henley Hawks which allowed him more game-time.
The winger also made his first team debut against Cardiff, scoring after just 10 minutes to announce himself in a Scottish shirt in dramatic style.
Hayhow is looking forward to another year gaining valuable experience with the Scots.
“I am delighted to be signing for my second year and to have the opportunity to work with the new coaching team in what will be an exciting season.”
