The London Scottish Girls side continued its progression last weekend as they took part in their first competitive games.
Last Sunday saw the first U/13 girls team from London Scottish to play in competitive games as a team. Grasshoppers hosted U/13 and U/15s games between a few clubs and it turned out to be a valuable experience for all the girls who took part, especially our London Scottish team.
The girls played in 7-a-side games against the more established teams from Grasshoppers and Melbourne and had to make a lot of tackles to keep the fast runners out. But the girls running and handling skills saw them scoring some really well worked tries.
The girls have shown that there is more to come from all of them as a team and they will surely form the core of a squad, as we continue building successful girls team and section at the club.
Players:
Morven Calway
Fiona Kennedy
Freya Aucken
Lauren Mullen
Rebecca Lawn
Casey Tedding
We are currently looking for enthusiastic coaches and volunteers to help build the girls section at London Scottish. We are aiming to recruit 2 or 3 coaches (minimum level 1 coaching qualifications), as well as 2 team managers, a first aider and a referee.
