Royal Mid-Surrey GC is the venue for the oldest golf match in world rugby this month when London Scottish golfers take on their Richmond RFC counterparts.
A four ball, better-ball, is the format for the match on Friday June 19 with the first players teeing off at 4.30pm.
London Scottish has a vibrant group of golfers ranging from 7 to 27 handicaps and, during a packed golfing season, they endeavour to give a game to everyone who would like to play.
Whilst going out to win is an important part of their philosophy, the London Scottish golfers are much more concentrated towards enjoying a great sporting event.
So, if you have yet to play for the golf team this year or in the past, please do put your name forward by emailing Lance Quantrill on lancequantrill@hotmail.com or calling/texting Lance on 07818420465.
Losing by the narrowest of margins, 3 matches to 2, against Royal Mid-Surrey GC last month has left the Scots hungry for victory on Friday, June 19.
Ian Capon, this year's Richmond RFC match organiser, advises that he has agreed a very ‘enlightened’ green fee.
This means that, even adding £8 for sausages and sandwiches after the match, it won't cost more than watching our rugby team play, plus whatever you might spend in the bar!
