The London Scottish Lions B’s came away with a hard-fought 29–22 victory against a strong-looking Wimbledon 2s side. The match was competitive throughout, with Wimbledon happy to run the ball from their own line at every opportunity, while the B’s countered their impressive running game with forward dominance and powerful carrying that consistently put them on the front foot. Both teams traded tries and momentum swung several times before the B’s defensive resilience and attacking composure proved decisive.
First Half – Lions Strike Early
The B’s started brightly and wasted little time making their mark. After just 6 minutes, Liam Kerr opened the scoring with a well-finished try, putting the visitors on the front foot. Wimbledon quickly responded with a try of their own in the 8th minute, adding the extras to edge ahead 7–5.
The response from the B’s was swift and emphatic. Kerr crossed for his second in the 10th minute, with Harry Churchill adding the conversion to put the Lions back in front. Kerr wasn’t finished yet — his strong running and support lines saw him complete a hat-trick in the 13th minute, with Churchill again converting to stretch the lead to 19–7.
Wimbledon, to their credit, kept fighting and struck back in the 17th minute with their second try of the half. But the B’s weren’t done. On 33 minutes, Fraser Waddell powered over from close range to give the visitors a valuable cushion heading into half-time.

Second Half – Wimbledon Resurgence
The second half saw Wimbledon come out firing. Their attacking ambition yielded back-to-back tries in the 43rd and 45th minutes, cutting the deficit to just 22–24 and swinging momentum back in the home side’s favour. At this point, the game was finely poised, with only a score separating the two teams.
The B’s, however, showed composure and discipline. Tightening up in defence and leaning on their pack to make the hard yards, they regained control. Their persistence paid off in the 65th minute, when Andrew MacInnes crashed over to extend the lead to 29–22.
Both teams were shown yellow cards late in the second half, leaving the final stages to be played 14 against 14. Despite Wimbledon pressing hard with their expansive game, the B’s forwards fronted up physically, slowed their momentum, and closed out a deserved away win.
