Liam Burnett joins as Assistant First Team Manager

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Liam Burnett as Assistant 1st XV Manager.

In the first instance, Liam will be helping out First XV Manager Doug Cowie with all of the team’s match day preparations at home games and will be responsible for the completion of the RFU’s new electronic score sheet during the course of the matches.

Liam brings a wealth of experience to the role, including;

  • Strength & Conditioning Intern at Glasgow Warriors
  • Assistant / Runner to the medical team at 2000 Youth Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh
  • Helping the Scottish medical team at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games
  • London 2012 Olympics – compound liaison to both the GB Men’s and Women’s Hockey Teams
  • Early rugby career, spent time in New Zealand playing and coaching
  • Trekking the Himalayas in the Ladakh region, climbing Stok Kangri to heights of 6100 meters.

Liam's father Harry Burnett played for London Scottish in the late 1970s/early 1980s so has a firm connection with the club.
