London Scottish has a very long tradition of offering rugby at all levels and is very proud of the senior teams that play outside of the semi-professional arena. This is the London Scottish Lions.
In the 2022-23 season, The Lions 1st XV won promotion for the third season in a row, having come runners-up in Counties League 2 (Herts-Middlesex). During last season, we also re-established the Lions B’s as the 2nd XV and they reached the play-offs in the Middlesex Merit Table Division 1. To finish another great season, the Lions also combined forces with the London Scottish semi-professional team to take part in the Melrose 7s in Scotland, a competition we last won in 2019.
In 2023-24 season, the Lions 1st XV are in London & SE Division, Counties 1 League (Herts-Middlesex)with the Lions B’s again competing in Division 1 of the Middlesex Merit Table. The stretch ambition for the coming season is for both teams to win their respective leagues, but to gain promotion again at the very least. In the coming season, we hope to get the London Scottish Picts up and running again, so watch this space for news of fixtures.
For those who are interested or know of anyone who would like to play with the Lions, whether you are an ex-international, an aspiring young player or someone who likes to don the boots once a month, we have the right set-up for you to enjoy your rugby. And no – you do not need to be Scottish!
Training takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:0pm at the Kings House School Sports Ground, Riverside Drive, Chiswick, W4 2SH. We look forward to seeing you !
