London Scottish is delighted to unveil Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky as the official whisky of the Greene King IPA Championship club.
The three-year sponsorship deal with Ian Macleod Distillers, owners of the Glengoyne brand, will kick-off on Friday, November 29, with Glengoyne coming on board as an official sponsor of ‘St Andrew's Day at The Savoy’, the Club’s showpiece annual event for Scots in London.
As part of the new partnership, the iconic whisky brand will be proudly promoted around Richmond Athletic Ground, the home of London Scottish.
The landmark deal means members of the Championship club can purchase Glengoyne, Tamdhu and other Ian Macleod Distillers brands at a special rate.
Glengoyne will also be one of the Club’s 'Best of Scottish' partners which helps iconic Scottish brands showcase their products outside Scotland.
London Scottish chief executive Kenny Baillie said: “We are thrilled to announce this fantastic partnership on the eve of our major St. Andrew’s Day event and I would like to thank Ian Macleod Distillers for joining us as we continue our incredible journey back to the top of English professional rugby.”
He added: “I'm sure members of London Scottish will be delighted with this tie-up as we further boost the Club's sponsorship portfolio.”
Neil Boyd, Director of Malts for Ian Macleod Distillers, said: “We are committed to supporting rugby and proud to partner London Scottish as the official malt whisky sponsor with Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
“The association is a great opportunity to align with an established and successful rugby union club whilst showcasing our brand outside of Scotland and we look forward to developing a successful partnership over the next three years.”
