With the weather forecast as it is for this weekend’s British and Irish Cup game against Gala, London Scottish are calling for volunteers to ready themselves to make sure the game can go ahead.
A pitch inspection has taken place at the Athletic Ground this morning and we are pleased to announce that the outcome was positive and that the game is scheduled to take place tomorrow afternoon as planned.
Due to the snowfall so far today and the potential for more to come, the club are now calling upon fans to come down to the Athletic Ground at 9am on Saturday and help staff clear the pitch of snow coverage before the 2pm kick off to avoid the match being postponed. There will be a further pitch inspection at 10am tomorrow on Saturday morning.
We had a similar scenario in a match against Esher two seasons ago and the help and support the club received in ensuring that game went ahead was excellent.
Tickets for the match have sold in very high numbers and with a healthy contingent of fans making the long trip down from Gala, the club would like to do everything we can to make sure the game goes ahead.
Please keep your eyes on the club website as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages over the next 48 hours for updates on the situation and let’s make sure we do all we can to get the match to take place. We will update supporters as and when we have more information.
Many thanks as always for your fantastic support.
