London Scottish Chairman knighted in New Year’s Honours List

We would like to congratulate the Chairman of London Scottish International Ltd, Sir David Reid, who has been knighted in the 2012 New Year’s honours list for Services to Business and Charity.

Sir David has had a 40 year association with London Scottish, having formerly played for the club, before becoming a supporter, member and director. He devotes a great deal of his time to the Club’s endeavours, and is a passionate supporter of London Scottish on and off the field.

He is currently Chairman of Intertek Group, and was previously Chairman of Tesco PLC between 2004 and 2011 as well as being Chairman of Kwik-Fit. He had worked for Tesco since 1985, and also holds non-executive directorships at a number of companies including Westbury, Legal & General and De Vere Group. 

He is Chair of the Trustees for ‘Whizz-Kidz’, a charity that provides equipment, support and life-skills for disabled children, as well as being a director of the Tesco Charity Trust.

Sir David said of the announcement: “I am delighted to receive the honour which reflects on all the teams in business, charity, and sport.”
